a news release of the Hamlin Lake Preservation Society

A swim across Hamlin Lake is planned for 9 am, August 9, from the North Bayou to the dunes, a 1.8 mile stretch.

Local swim instructor Becky Reamer is planning the fourth annual cross-lake swim, to benefit the Hamlin Lake Preservation Society.

The event is a swim, not a race. After arrival at the sand dunes on the north side of the lake, swimmers will get a boat ride back to the event start. The cost is %50 to register.

Reamer needs at least six pontoon boats to ferry people and clothing from North Bayou Resort to the sand dunes and back. She will need the boats at the resort by 8:20 am for the 9 am start of the event.
